Seeing a sea of blue shirts and Israeli flags march through the Arbeit Macht Frei gate at Auschwitz.

I feel sad that a culture that existed for centuries is no longer there. I feel empowered that the Nazis did not succeed in wiping out a people.
What impact did Israel have on you?
Israel was upside for everything in Poland.
How were you impacted by the overall experience?
I was comforted by sharing this experience with others who understood and supported where I was coming from.
What else would you like to share about your experience?
I swore that I would never ever set foot in Poland — but I am now so glad to have been able to walk where my parents once walked and see sites that they once saw — but I was seeing everything from the comfortable vantage point of knowing that the Nazis lost.
