Alumni Reflections: Sharon Sigal, Miami /Broward, 1992

What is the name of the March of the Living Delegation / Group that you traveled with? Miami /Broward.

Year(s) attended: 1992

What was the most memorable moment of your experience? Standing in Birkenau and listening to Ellie Weisel speak. But, yet there are so many memories, that’s just one that stands out.

What impact did Poland have on you? It felt as if I was visiting a cemetery, a big cemetery where many of my family perished.

What impact did Israel have on you? Light, life, hope. Zionism.

How were you impacted by the overall experience? A trip of a lifetime, defining more the Jew that I am.

What else would you like to share about your experience? To have walked on the ground where so many of our family members lost their lives to the atrocities perpetrated by the Nazis. It was humbling and very surreal. History viewed through my own eyes. No better way to learn.
