International March of the Living mourns the loss of Shevach Weiss beloved Holocaust survivor, former Knesset speaker and Israeli ambassador to Poland.

Shevach Weiss, who was hidden by Righteous Poles and Ukrainians during the Shoah, was instrumental in strengthening relations between the State of Israel and Poland, and in encouraging dialogue between Jews and Poles.

Shevach Weiss attended the March of the Living on several occasions – his legacy of mutual respect, understanding and the building of bridges between Poland, Israel and the Jewish people will forever be remembered, cherished and honored.

May his family be granted comfort among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
