March of the Living Statement on Terror Attack in New Zealand

The Board and Officers of the International March of the Living condemn Friday’s horrific terror attack and senseless loss of lives in two Muslim Mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand.

We call upon all communities of faith to not just once again mourn the killing of innocent worshippers, but to moreover commit themselves to take affirmative steps to educate the next generation against the evils of hatred, bigotry and prejudice in all their ugly forms. We cannot continue to tolerate the presence of these societal horrors if we are to provide a meaningful future for our children and our children’s children“, said Phyllis Greenberg Heideman, President. “We must strive to end these assaults on all religions and attacks which transcend religious boundaries”.

The International March of the Living is an annual educational program, bringing individuals from around the world to Poland and Israel to study the history of the Holocaust and to examine the roots of prejudice, intolerance and hatred.
